Photograph vs Snapshot

Do Now:
In your journal, respond to the following question: What do you think is the difference between a photograph and a snapshot? Explain.

Today we will be discussing the differences between a photograph and a snapshot. After our discussions, you will be creating an individual slideshow presenting images for both photographs and snapshots.
The images must follow these guidelines:
  • You must have 3 examples of each photographs and  snapshots- separate slide per image, you will have 8 slides total including intro page and conclusion with sources.
  • One must be a photograph that is misleading (providing false information); be sure to include an explanation of why it is misleading.
  • On each slide you must explain why the image is either a photograph or a snapshot, if they have a harmful effect, what the differences or similarities are between the chosen image and a snapshot/photograph.
  • Cite all of your sources (link is fine if there is no owner)
Be sure to upload your slideshow to classroom when you have completed your work.

Homework:
By next class, please bring in 5 images that tell us a little bit about yourself. They may be a combination of photographs and snapshots, it is up to you. You may bring in your digital camera or use your cell phone to take pictures.
**ALSO: please bring in a shoebox with a lid.
